Public Education Scenarios and Policy Priorities in the State of Ohio for the Future

At its 2006 annual retreat, the State Board of Education explored trends impacting Ohio’s economy and education system. Through a process led by State Board Member Stephen Millett, Ph.D., the State Board of Education developed four possible scenarios for Ohio’s future. This paper summarizes the scenarios envisioned by the State Board of Education and identifies six priorities for action to help ensure a bright future for the state and its students.
